In Bowling Green this weekend shooting Shelley and Christian’s wedding! Its gonna be a great day!

She just keeps getting cuter!

This next one is my fav…

This last picture has a sweet significance. It was almost exactly 6 years ago that Chris proposed to Regina on the steps in the background of this picture! This is also the spot where we took their engagement pictures quite a few years ago! Its fun to see the many blessings they have had in their lives over the last 6 years!

Check out how much this little man has grown since the last time I photographed him!

He is so precious and SO much fun! Yesterday was one of those unexpectedly great shoots!

I already knew that Jack was precious, and I think the world of his mom and dad…but that was not a surprise. What was SO wonderful was the fact that in the midst of this insanely crazy heat lately, it almost felt nice outside….at 11:30am!

Not only was the weather cooperating perfectly, but so was Jack! I mean, lets be honest…you never know what kind of day you are going to have photographing anyone. Jack stepped up to the plate and gave me some awesome smiles!

Little smiles like the ones Jack has put a smile on my face the rest of the day!

Thanks Jack! I look forward to hopefully seeing you again soon!

I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet couple a few months ago through a mutual friend in Auburn.

On Sunday evening, I met Kim and Blake in Alexander City at the SpringHouse, which is where Blake proposed! Since we were in the exact location where he popped the question, we thought it would be fun to do a little fake proposal shot!

I’d gotten to know them over dinner one night, and then actually got to hang out with them the night after they got engaged! They are such great people, so I was very excited when they asked me to shoot their wedding!

Kim and Blake attend the same church in Auburn, which is where they met. A few of their friends played matchmaker, and the rest is history!

They will be getting married in December in Opelika! Can’t wait for this one!

If you can’t already tell…I liked alot of these shots. Very much enjoyed taking pictures in a new location!

I started emailing with Dawn quite a few months ago about photographing her baby once she arrived! Julie made her appearance into the world a little over a month ago, so we decided it was about time to make some cute photos happen!

Dawn had quite an assortment of different colored cute bows and flowers for her hair, so we chose a few and put Julie in this cute little bucket in their backyard!

Julie is the newest addition to the family, but there are also two very important little men in this family as well!

And then there is the whole, fun clan of Reeves!

And this is what happened when I said “Everyone make a silly face!” Love it!

This wasn’t an official photo shoot…just snapped a few pics of this sweet little face the other day and wanted to share with you!

Not a working weekend for me, so I’ll be back to share more with you next week! Have a good one!
Last Saturday I photographed Lauren and Kyle’s wedding in the Fellowship Hall at Shades Mountain Baptist Church.

Laura looked beautiful in her dress from Diane’s!

Check out this bride’s awesome shoes!!

I loved the navy bridesmaids dresses! The weather was a little back and forth, so we found a nice outdoor spot that we still covered to block the rain drops!

These groomsmen were all about coming up with some different ideas for pictures! Of course I loved their willingness to have fun with it!

Check out the groom’s cool stripped shirt!

On the way to see her groom!

Lauren and Kyle chose not to see each other beforehand, so the anticipation of the day was extra sweet!

Good lookin bridal party as well!

Their reception was held at LINC Point, which was a first for me. It was this beautiful stone building that was a perfect spot for a reception! I never anticipate alot of dancing at an early afternoon reception, but this bridal party sure got after it!

In addition to a beautiful bride’s cake, a cheesecake table for the groom, there were over 1,000 freshly baked cookies, along with a banana split bar and a candy bar for the guests to take home!

Wow! Everyone, primarily these two little ones below, were excited about all the sweets!

Laura and Kyle exited to a sea of bubbles and are now enjoying their honeymoon in the Dominican Republic! Congrats to the bride and groom!

Sheena actually got married back in May, but she had a few dress issues that made scheduling bridal portraits tough. So…we just decided to take them afterwards! This is the first time I have shot bridals after the wedding, but I kinda enjoyed it! And I know Sheena was excited to be able to wear her awesome dress again! Here are just a few of my favorites from Oak Mountain.

I met with Katie and Calvin a few months back to discuss shooting their wedding this fall. Calvin expressed me to his interest and appreciate for art, so we wanted lean a little bit more towards that end with the photos.

Calvin was full of some great ideas for different poses! He even brought along some old-timey photos that we tried to recreate. I can always appreciate someone who likes to think outside the box!

Katie and Calvin are such a sweet couple, and I look forward to photographing their wedding this October in Birmingham!

Had a great time yesterday with this sweet Bride and Groom.

While they are off to the Dominican Republic this week, I will be here working on their pictures!

I am photographing Lauren and Kyle’s wedding today at 2:00 at Shades Mountain Baptist Church! Look forward to showing you wedding pictures soon!

I couldn’t help but have a smile on my face the entire time I was shooting Ashley and Joe’s wedding. They are one of those couples who are just completely smitten with each other and could not wipe the huge grins off their faces all day long! Ashley’s dress got pretty dirty…she didn’t care. It was pretty hot outside…no problem. It rained for a little while right before their outdoor ceremony…no worries! The power even went out…no big deal! Man I love an easy going couple like Ashley and Joe!

Ashley graduated from Auburn, and Joe from Samford. They met when they both first started working in the pharmacy at Walgreens…actually meeting for the first time on Joe’s birthday!

They decided they did want to see each other beforehand, so we set up a nice little meeting on the front porch of the beautiful Magnolia Manor in Helena, AL.

After taking a few shots in front of the house, we hoped in my car and drove up the road just a little bit to a park! But first we made a quick stop by the railroad tracks! We were on there all of about 3 minutes before we heard a train coming! Joe twirled Ashley around one quick time before we had to hop off! (Maybe I should reconsider putting the lives of my couples in danger…)

We turned quite a few heads of the families who were swimming in the creek and by the waterfall…all watching in admiration of how happy these two looked!

We got back to the house and took some bridal party shots. What a fun group of people they were as well.

The rained stopped just in time for the ceremony to be held outside!

The reception followed under a large white tent filled with white christmas light strung all around!

Ashley and Joe are actually waiting a week to go on their cruise, as they are moving to a new city and are going to get settled in before they hit the seas! Congrats to the bride and groom! Thanks for showing me the look of two people who clearly adore each other! Makes my heart happy!

Check out this cute young lady! I met Mackenzie about four years ago at the beach! Her grandparents own a beach house that was right next door to my family’s house. We have gotten to know their wonderful family over the years at the beach. It was fun getting to see Mackenzie (and her cool mom, Shawn!) in their hometown of Atlanta. Shawn didn’t let me get any photos of her, but I did get some pretty nice shots of this beautiful girl! I am POSITIVE I did not look this cute when I was 13 and had my braces!! She’s rockin it! Watch out for this little heartbreaker when she gets into high school!

I felt like I was hanging out with a grown up when Mackenzie and I were walking around Piedmont Park! She was talking about school, and going to lacrosse camp at Duke in a few weeks, and all the amazing trips she has been on, and still has left to go on the rest of the summer! This is one well-traveled (almost) 8th grader!

What a GREAT time with Leslie and Jeremy! This was another one of my shoots at Piedmont Park while I was in Atlanta last week!

I met Leslie a little over two years ago at my brother’s wedding! Leslie and my sister-in-law, Mari-Etta, go way back, so I was able to get to know Leslie through some of those wedding festivities.

Jeremiah coaches high school volleyball, which is how him and Leslie met. Leslie was taking care of her niece for quite a few years, and Jeremiah was her coach!

This branch was actually pretty darn high…leave it to the vball coach to lift his girlfriend, and then be back to jump high enough to get himself up there! Impressive!

It was important for these two to have their dog, George W, in some of the photographs with him. (Jeremy was happy with this also, primarily because George W was wearing a UGA collar!) Poor George W was really hot, so we did our best to work him into some photos!

These aren’t technically engagement pictures, because there is no ring yet….HOWEVER, we are pretty sure that will coming up in the very near future! (which…by the way…I would LOVE to be a part of the wedding
!

Amanda and Brian are the primary reason I made the trip to Atlanta last week! I met these two at my good friend, Dana Jackson’s, wedding about two years ago. Unfortunately I am already booked for their wedding date in April 2011, but they asked if I would be willing to come to Atlanta to take their engagement pictures!

We met up at Piedmont Park in downtown Atlanta, and I had a great time learning more about them and their relationship as we took some fun pictures!

Amanda and Brian actually met on a blind double date, which was orchestrated by Amanda’s cousin (and Dana’s brother), Matt. They got something to eat, and then spent the rest of the night bowling…and the rest is history!

When I asked about the proposal, Brian told me that he proposed to her in Phoenix, after they’d finished climbing Camel Back Mountain. Amanda laughed in telling me that they had been on a few “honeymoon-type” vacations, where she was sure he would propose. So he caught her completely off guard in proposing on top of the mountain!

I will give both of these two huge props because it was INCREDIBLY hot that day! Like I’ve mentioned before, I am fully aware that most men do NOT love having their picture made. Brian was a trooper…on top of being in long pants and crazy hot, he didn’t roll his eyes too much when I asked him to lay on the ground and walk all over the huge park! Anything for love, right??

I wish I was open to photograph their wedding…but still thankful for the opportunity to work with them on this!

I had a GREAT time with these two lovebirds last night! What a sweet day! I can’t wait to share more pictures with you soon!

When my friend Natalie Floyd Otting heard that I was coming to Atlanta to work for the day, she asked if I could possibly take some photos of her. I had the honor of photographing Natalie and John’s wedding last year. As I have said before, I am most flattered when a past client wants me to work with them again! With a little hesitancy of feeling weird being photographed alone, she has a very specific purpose for these photos. I have known Natalie for about six years now, but just recently learned that she was adopted. She filled me in a little on the story. However, I’m sure if I try to give you the specifics, I will mess it up! But, I do know that Natalie has known she was adopted from before she even really knew what it meant. She has been raised and loved by a wonderful family her entire life, but her desires to meet her birth mom have grown since she has gotten older, gotten married, and potentially wanting to have kids someday. Up until this point Natalie and her birth mom have communicated only through letters, with which her next she wants to include some “every day type” pictures of herself. Natalie isn’t sure if she will actually decide to meet this woman face to face…they are just taking it one step at a time. I admire Natalie for exploring her curiosity in this, because I can’t even begin to imagine all the emotions that go alongside this experience. So…here is my beautiful friend Natalie!
