Oh what a beautiful day! Last Saturday my friends Ali and Bill got married at Canterbury United Methodist Church at 6:30pm. I met up with Ali earlier that afternoon and found her completely calm and absolutely beautiful! I’m almost positive Ali was more focused to being sure everyone was settled, and telling all her friends how beautiful THEY looked on HER wedding day! Ali is truly one of the most humble and gracious brides I have ever had the chance to work with! We spent a few minutes taking some solo pictures of Ali (I LOVE the picture of her sweet mom, LeeLee, watching her pose!), and then her fun bridesmaids joined in! I thought the blue dressed looked great, and were complimented well by the beautiful bouquets that one of her bridesmaids created! (Along with the rest of the flowers for the day! SO talented, especially since she says she only does it “on the side!”) We made Ali hide since her and Bill chose not to see each other before the ceremony. I got the large group of groomsmen together, which, lets be honest…that many guys can be a little intimidating! They were all great as well! (Sidenote that I must mention..I got to work with a fun videographer husband and wife team, Main Street Productions…and it just so happened to be Angela’s birthday on Saturday! Thats dedication…or just a genuine love for what you do!)

Being such a large church, its hard to make Canterbury look full. Despite the fact that both the bride and groom are not from Birmingham, there was a pretty packed house…mostly from Louisville and Florence. After a perfect ceremony, I rushed the bride and groom outside for some quick shots of the two of them! The sun had already set, but we managed to squeeze in a couple of minutes focusing on just Ali and Bill before joined the rest of the bridal party and family for pictures in the sanctuary.

The reception was held at the beautiful Vestavia Hills Country Club…one of my very favorite reception locations in Birmingham. Ali’s friend made the room look absolutely incredibly! It was very romantic, with candlelight and gorgeous bouquets on every table! Beautiful cakes. Wonderful Food….And an awesome band from Atlanta that kept the dancefloor packed until midnight! I think its safe to say that people walked away from this wedding talking about how beautiful and FUN it was! Definitely worth the travel for everyone involved!
