Little reminders

002

You would think I had never seen a seashell.  I found these on the beach this weekend and I was about as excited as a 5 year old!  I’ve collected many seashells in my lifetime, but never seen any this beautiful.  For some reason I was completely, absolutely fascinated by these.  The stripes.  The colors.  The textures.  Such a variety.  Such an unexpected blessing.  Sitting there on the beach realizing how incredible the Lord is.  It’s funny how things just hit you sometimes. No man could have created such detail, making each shell completely different.   Its so encouraging and uplifting to realize that God pays attention to the tiny details.   Little reminders that He already has every detail of my life planned out.  So, lesson learned:  Don’t sweat the details.  He’s got it all worked out!

In my last post I mentioned the song, “In Christ Alone” and what a blessing it has been to me lately.   Just wanted to share with you the lyrics of the last verse…my favorite:

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
‘til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand

October 7, 2009 - 6:05 AM Catherine Dodd - Hi AW - we sing this song at church around once a month and I LOVE it - and everyone stands up for the last verse, not b/c we're told to, but b/c singing the truth about God 'commands' us rise and bless His holy name. Thank you! (ps - these pictures are amazing - wow - if we had these colours in our place I'd order these from you for our walls!!) love,Cilker

October 9, 2009 - 6:01 PM Lisa Williams - Hey Ann Wade ~ I looove all of your pictures! I wish I had the insight like you do...all I can do is take a pictures of peoples faces, I don't see things like you...and I don't have a camera like you. :) This is one of my favorite songs as well, I like the "From life's first cry to final breath" part the most. Thanks for sharing!

October 13, 2009 - 3:48 AM ANN WADE Parrish - Thanks, Lisa! I appreciate you checking out my blog! Lemme know if you ever want some new pics :) Hope to see you soon!

October 13, 2009 - 3:52 AM ANN WADE Parrish - Thanks, Cilker! You know, I'm not sure we've ever even sang this song at our church. I heard it once while taking pics at Samford in a Beeson chapel service, and then again at this wedding 3 weeks ago...and it has quickly become my new favorite. So powerful and comforting at the same time. Its amazing what his presence can 'command' us to do!
